Joel launched his first digital marketing project the same day he got some friends together to start a band in 8th grade, creating a Geocities website and AOL profile for the group that night. A decade later, he launched an annual local music festival on a shoestring budget, handling all of the scouting, organizing, press and promotion through Myspace and Facebook. While the tools and technology continually evolve, the desire to create unique experiences and connect people around the world is what drives Joel in his career as a Digital Strategist.
For more than 15 years, Joel has been a highly sought communicator and problem solver in the digital marketing space. He combines digital-first, people-first, and data-supported philosophies to develop highly tailored solutions that go beyond standard digital and marketing tactics. His B.A. in Professional Writing from Michigan State University included coursework in Engineering, Psychology and Education, and he is currently working on an M.S. in Marketing at Webster University. Meanwhile, his work with social media, events, PR, inbound and content marketing, UX, research and analytics with brands in higher ed, sustainability, automotive, retail and software (SaaS) give him a wide variety of experiences to draw on.
